Essential Knits
Sunday, May 9th, 2010I’ve used this spread probably a hundred times since its release in the July 2006 issue of W Magazine. It will forever be one of my favorite references for texture and silhouettes. And I’m sure it is on the inspiration boards of fashion houses across the World. Brilliant!

The King Of Fashion
Tuesday, August 11th, 2009Terry Richardson shot supermodel Agyness Deyn for a spread in Harper’s Bazaar September 2009 issue, paying tribute to the iconic style of Michael Jackson. It is amazing how so much of today’s fashion is inspired by his style. There are pieces featured in Lanvin’s most recent collections that are so reminiscent of Jackson’s style in the mid 80’s. I will post his relevence today’s fashion in an upcoming post. For now, marvel these amazing jackets!

The Love Interest: Tilda Swinton
Wednesday, March 11th, 2009You may remember Tilda Swinton most recently as the Russian swimming love interest of Brad Pitt in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. She is not the most obvious choice for glamour and beauty but I think she is absolutely captivating. She also knows exactly how to dress to support her look and accentuate her extremely distinct features , and I think shes a noteworthy muse. Here are some images of her cover and spread for Another Magazine for Spring/Summer 09. She can also be seen here in her Lanvin Oscar ensemble from last month, and here looking ferocious in a September 2008 spread for W Magazine.
Ps. Wouldn’t she be great for Lanvin’s next campaign?. . .Hmm.

Not to mention that amazing record top by Belgian engineering genius Maison Martin Margiela.

Lasting Fashions of the Party Scene Through the Ages
Monday, November 10th, 2008While flipping through the pages of New York Magazine’s 40th Anniversary Issue, I found myself inspired page after page by garments worn by musicians, stars, and artists in the party scene of New York from four decades ago. Matter of fact, I spotted a couple of pieces that are almost duplicates of pieces I own myself. It is true that fashion has projected itself forward through rethought-out designs and re conceptualization but some key pieces never seem to change. Have they been redesigned to come full circle, or have they been absent awaiting their triumphant return?
